SPECIAL INITIATIVES

 

Alpha Phi Alpha’s special Initiatives are programs and activities that are sustained through collaborative efforts, memoranda of understanding, and/or outside financial assistance, which Alpha chapters are encouraged to implement.

 

BIG BROTHERS / BIG SISTERS OF AMERICA

The Big Brothers/Big Sisters of America program was implemented during the fraternity’s 1990 General Convention.The two organizations signed an agreement to assist each other in reaching their goals of working toward the positive development of African-American youth and empowering their families and communities. – Read more>>

 

BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA

The Boy Scouts of America and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity have goals and objectives which make for a “natural alliance” between the two organizations. LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT INSTITUTE (LDI)™

Alpha Phi Alpha and the preeminent international service organization of the United States, the Peace Corps, has entered into a partnership that will send brothers abroad to tackle the most pressing needs of people around the world. Brother who serve as Peace Corps Volunteers work at the grassroots level toward sustainable change that lives on long after their service—at the same time becoming global citizens and serving their country. WORLD POLICY COUNCIL

The mission of the Alpha Phi Alpha World Policy Council (WPC) is to address issues of concern to our brotherhood, our communities, our nation, and the world. The council has been charged with applying sustained and profound intellectual energy to understanding an alternative means of bringing about the resolution of problems at the community, national, and international levels; expanding fraternal and public knowledge of such problems, and engaging public discussion about them. The council, in fulfilling its mission, is non-partisan, gives consideration to domestic and international issues, seeks the counsel of experts in relevant fields, provides perspectives on specific problems, and, where practicable, recommends possible solutions that may have a favorable impact on African Americans, the community, the nation, and the world. – Read more>>

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. develops leaders, promotes brotherhood and academic excellence, while providing service and advocacy for our communities.

Vision Statement

The objectives of this Fraternity shall be: to stimulate the ambition of its members; to prepare them for the greatest usefulness in the causes of humanity, freedom, and dignity of the individual; to encourage the highest and noblest form of manhood; and to aid down-trodden humanity in its efforts to achieve higher social, economic and intellectual status.
